Aromatherapy is the controlled use of essential oils to have a positive effect on body, mind and soul.

Star anise are whole dried fruits, which have the shape of an octagonal star. They contain the essential oil Athenol, which is obtained by steam distillation and has a sweetish smell.

Essential star anise oil has a calming effect and is said to release mental blockages. At the same time it is antibacterial. These positive effects are often described in naturopathy, but we have no scientific evidence for them. In any case it smells simply wonderful!

Star anise oil should not be used during pregnancy or with small children.
